Shen Yueyue Joins Panel Discussion with Lawmakers from SE Ch

Shen Yueyue, vice-chairperson of the standing committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and president of the , highlighted the remarkable accomplishments of China since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Shen made the remark while attending a panel discussion with deputies to the NPC from southeast China's Fujian Province.

She said that China has made historical achievements over the past five years under the guidance of on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, which has greatly strengthened her confidence in the Party and the nation's future development.

"I fully agree with the contents of the Government Work Report delivered by Premier Li Keqiang at the first session of the 13th NPC," Shen said, describing the report as practical and realistic.

In addition, Shen urged officials at all levels to conscientiously adhere to the centralized leadership of the CPC Central Committee, take Xi Jinping Thought as a guideline in daily work and comprehensively implement the spirits of the 19th CPC National Congress and the plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee.

Moreover, all regions and government departments should steadily strengthen their consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, uphold the leadership core and keep in alignment, Shen added.

To revive the nation, officials at all levels must fortify confidence in the socialist path, theories, system and culture with Chinese characteristics, Shen said, adding that officials from all posts should ensure the leadership of the Central Committee of the CPC with General Secretary Xi Jinping at the core and promote balanced economic, political, cultural, social and ecological progress.

Shen added that in line with the supply-side structural reform, relevant departments should insist on seeking progress in stability, adhere to the renewed development concept and promote coordinated implementation of the Four-Pronged Comprehensive Strategy (This refers to taking comprehensive action to finish building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, deepening reform, advancing the law-based governance of China and strengthening Party self-governance.)

Touching on the work of ACWF, Shen said  the federation will combine poverty alleviation work with training programs, stimulate rural women's motivation and help develop characteristic industries in rural areas, including handmade productions, E-commerce and rural tourism.

Shen added that relevant departments of ACWF will also lift more rural women out of poverty, strengthen their awareness of ecological and environment protection and motivate more rural households to participate in a three-year plan for the improvement of residential environments.

Premier Li Keqiang said at the meeting that officials at all levels must stay true to the vision of people-centered development, start by considering China's own situation, and do everything within their capacity to resolve each and every one of the issues concerning the people, Shen noted.

During the legislation and supervision process of the NPC, deputies should take people's concerns into consideration, safeguard their rights and interests, stimulate people's creativity and further enhance their happiness, Shen emphasized.

The ACWF will strengthen women's political and ideological work, further enhance their political identity, ideological recognition and emotional identification towards Xi Jinping Thought, and pay special attention to those women in poverty, Shen said.

The ACWF will continue to carry out subsidized microcredit scheme for female entrepreneurs, provide free cervical and breast cancer screening for rural women and care for left-behind women and children. The federation will also lead women to follow the Party's leadership and make contributions in the new era, Shen added.

In future, the ACWF will comprehensively deepen reform, constantly enhance its political advancement, pay close attention to the masses , continuously improve  capabilities and accomplish all its work steadily, Shen concluded.
