Beijing Subway Holds Safety Open Day for Families

WORLD 2020/12/16 11:16

Beijing Mass Transit Railway (BJMTR) held a subway activity on February 4 featuring characters from a specially-made animated cartoon called Anecdotes of Rookies.

The organization has held similar activities since 2016, aiming to spread the idea of safe and civilized travel by subway.

Anecdotes of Rookies features four leading characters: Sister Strawberry, Brother Banana, Uncle Eggplant and Mr. Green Bean.

The four characters spread civilized travel knowledge vividly. For example, through a series of amusing and embarrassing stories that they see firsthand, they show that carrying prohibited objects and eating are both not allowed on the subway.

On the day, BJMTR also organized families to visit the subway station, where staff gave a detailed introduction of how to use the automatic ticket vending machine, the security inspection machine and the elevator.

This greatly improved the children's understanding of the industry, according to parents who also participated in the event.

Furthermore, workers in BJMTR spread knowledge about dangerous objects and explained why it is necessary not to step within the yellow zone whilst waiting, giving scientific demonstrations.
