ACWF Awards Women Role Models to Commemorate Int'l Women's

To commemorate the International Women's Day on March 8, the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) held an awarding ceremony to honor women role models for making extraordinary achievements.

Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Part of China (CPC) Central Committee and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, attended the ceremony and presented the awards.

Liu Yandong, vice premier of the State Council, also attended the conference.

Shen Yueyue, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) and president of ACWF, addressed the ceremony.

Ten National March 8th Red-Banner Pacesetters, 299 National March 8th Red-Banner Award winners and 200 National March 8th Red-Banner Collectives were awarded.

Representatives of the pacesetters Yu Liufen, Yu Lina and Liang Jianying delivered speeches.

It is emphasized at the ceremony  that the  with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core attaches great importance to the development of women's causes. Xi made a series of important instructions to point out directions and offer guidance for advancing women's causes, which greatly inspired millions of women.

At the ceremony, women across the country have been encouraged to study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, and to strengthen consciousness and firmness of supporting the core leadership, and unswervingly listen to the Party's words and follow the Party's guidance.

Women are also encouraged to play their "half of the sky" role in promoting the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, strive to take the lead in practicing core socialist values and play a unique role in promoting the formation of a new socialist mode of family civilization.

Song Xiuyan, vice-president and first member of the Secretariat of the ACWF, presided over the ceremony.
