(YWF) held a series of partnership events with other organizations to reach out to former addicts at a drug rehabilitation center in the Southwest China province on March 8,.

The educational events were held at the Women's Drug Rehabilitation Center of Yunnan along with Yunnan Women Prosecutors Association and Yunnan Drug Rehabilitation Administration (YDRA).

Li Jiang, vice president of YWF, together with Chen Xin, Director of YDRA, participated in the event along with several volunteers. They all showed a willingness to support and help addicts begin a new life, said officials.

As part of the Promoting Rule of Law in Yunnan, Women in Action initiative, the event included different themes such as "marriage and family", "legal consultation" and "legal assistance".

Experts in psychology and legal affairs provided consultation and assistance for 59 women undergoing therapy at the center.

Such activities aimed to cater for the emotional and psychological needs of women there, inspiring compassion and care from society.

Wei Fengling, head of the facility, said: "As the only drug rehabilitation center for women in the province, our staff are mainly composed of policewomen, who always work with great conscientiousness."

"They deserve to be respected and admired. I am touched by today's activity," Wei added.

Zhao Jian, a police officer who works at the center, admitted that it was a challenging job to take care and control of residents' emotional ups and downs and physical illnesses.

During the event, she saw how experts help to solve problems that they cannot solve themselves, to eliminate addicts' sense of estrangement and abandonment.
